You don’t always have to be the strong female boss

We all are an amazing, awesome strong willed female boss. We have our own business – we pay our own bills.

But then, who doesn’t like to be taken care of?

Get flowers. Have your man open the door for you. Have him pay the bill.

Then the voices start… “I can pay that bill. I’m making enough money, I’m equal to you and don’t need you to take care of me”

I call BULLSH!T – on myself.

Why does it have to be an either or?!

Feminism and being able to provide for ourselves doesn’t mean we have to emasculate our guys!

Don’t get me wrong, I struggle with this myself more than I’d like to admit.

My guy just took me for a trip to Hawaii… a destination on my list for a long time. He wants me to experience EVERYTHING.

So he pays for dinners (btw. double the $ I’m used to seeing, and I live in California!), he pays for trips and the experiences.

What do I do?! Cut off his balls 😉

He knows how much I’ve been working to get where I am. He knows I want to expand my business and therefore need to invest in it.

Halfway through the trip I started feeling bad. I started to fight him on dinner bills and I even payed my own ziplining.

Why is it so difficult for us to let our man be “the man”?!

For me, it’s two things:

I worry about his financials just as much as he worries about mine.

He has plans. Plans that involve a nice down payment and a good amount of financial security. The other thing is my god damn ego, and my perception of things.

I have worked and fought hard to be where I am today. I spend a lot of money on a lot of lessons (not just my $ also his).

I can f**ing pay for my way.

But you know what?! All he wants to do is “be the man” and be there for me. Spoil me. It’s his way of showing me how much he loves and appreciates me.

So ladies. LET HIM.

Just because our guys pay the bill, doesn’t make us worth less.

There is a way to have both. Be a kick ass, self-sufficient woman and still let your guy take care of you <3

I’m sure you’ve experienced similar struggles?! Care to share in the comments?!
