Understanding SEO and Its Importance

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the practice of enhancing your website to improve its visibility on search engines like Google. When people search for keywords related to your content, a well-optimized website will appear higher in the search results. SEO ranking depends on various elements, including keywords, content quality, and more technical aspects like page speed and crawling efficiency.

Key Components of SEO

SEO can be divided into several categories, each playing a crucial role in overall optimization:

  • Keywords: These are the terms or phrases your audience is searching for.

  • Content: This includes blog posts, videos, and other high-quality material that answers user questions.

  • On-page SEO: This touches upon titles, meta descriptions, headers, and other on-page elements.

  • Off-page SEO: This involves backlinks and external optimization to boost your rankings.

  • Technical SEO: Aspects like site speed, crawl efficiency, and other technical considerations.

The Role of Images in SEO Ranking

Images also form a vital part of your SEO strategy. Google doesn’t only analyze the text on your page; it scans images too. Simply naming your images img123.jpg doesn’t provide Google with the context needed to understand your content. Therefore, optimizing your images with relevant keywords can make a significant difference in how your page ranks and directly impact your SEO ranking.

The Challenges of Manual Image Optimization

Manually renaming images is not only time-consuming but also prone to errors. Ensuring that each image follows the same naming convention is complicated, especially in teams where multiple people handle content creation. Even a minor mistake can affect your entire SEO ranking strategy.

Given that humans aren’t perfect, errors are inevitable. Whether it’s forgetting the naming convention or inconsistently applying keywords, these mistakes can negate all your SEO efforts. Moreover, the resources spent on this task could be better utilized elsewhere.

The Solution: Automate Your Image SEO

Automation can solve most, if not all, the problems associated with manual image SEO. The process can rename your images based on pre-set keyword conventions and place them in the correct folders, reducing the chance of human error to zero. This not only saves time but also ensures consistency, which is crucial for maintaining a strong SEO ranking.

The Make.com Integration

Let’s delve into the nitty-gritty of how you can set this up using ClickUp and make.com. The process starts with a ClickUp task. Once a task is ready and the images are required, team members upload them through a specific form. This form submission triggers an automation script via make.com.

  • Initial Trigger: Team members upload images through a form linked to the ClickUp task.

  • Pulling Task Name: Based on the ClickUp task ID, the task name is pulled automatically.

  • Clean-Up: Any unwanted characters (like dashes) are removed from the task name.

  • Naming Files: The cleaned-up title is then used to rename the images appropriately.

  • Placement: The renamed images are then stored in their designated folders on Google Drive and attached to the ClickUp task.

The script runs this process thrice to handle three different types of images (square, story, and thumbnail).

By automating this process, you eliminate the risks associated with human error and save valuable time. Not only does this streamline your workflow, it also ensures that your images are correctly optimized with SEO-friendly names that will boost your website’s SEO ranking.

Conclusion: Automation is a Game Changer

In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, every second counts. Automating your image SEO is not just a timesaver; it’s a game changer. By integrating tools like ClickUp and make.com, you ensure that your images are always optimized, significantly improving your website’s SEO ranking. This leaves you with more time to focus on creating high-quality content that drives value to your audience.

By implementing these automation hacks, you’ll be setting yourself up for SEO success, leaving no stone unturned in your journey to higher rankings and organic traffic.

Do you find yourself scrolling through file names like img123jpg and you’re wondering if all of the renaming of your images is even worth it for your website SEO. Now listen up. And now imagine the relief you are going to feel knowing exactly that your images are boosting your rankings automatically without spending any additional time on having to worry about naming them in a way that is SEO friendly. Stick with me because I am about to show you exactly how you can set up this hands free system that is going to ensure your image is properly named to get you the best SEO possible. And if we haven’t met yet. Hey there, I’m Yvonne Heimann. I am a business efficiency consultant and leadership coach right here at askyvi.com let’s take a moment and talk about what is SEO? SEO stands for search Engine Optimization.

Yvonne Heimann [00:01:17]:
How does Google know what you are talking about? That is SEO and it is all about improving your website’s visibility. Again, how does Google know what you are talking about? And a lot of people are visual. So our goal is to get your website ranking higher so people can find you organically. No ads required, no social media required. So let me break this down here for a second. Keywords are those words that your audience searches for and don’t get caught up when it says keywords. It can be phrases, can be one word. It’s the stuff they are searching for.

Yvonne Heimann [00:01:56]:
Content is that high quality stuff. That answers the question, your blog post, your video, whatever it is. On page SEO is what’s happening on your page, hence the name on page SEO. That is your titles, your meta descriptions, your headers, all that stuff. Off page SEO is when you optimize your search engine to come from other pages that are linking back to you, hence integrating with backlinks. And then technical SEO is that how fast does your website load? Are you allowing those Google bots to crawl your websites or other issues? Now why is image SEO so critical? Why even bother with it? Google isn’t just reading your page and the text that you’ve written on it. It is scanning everything including your images. When you have in there img 123 it doesn’t help you.

Yvonne Heimann [00:02:52]:
It has not been optimized for any relevant keywords and Google just can’t link your content to those search queries, to the stuff that people potentially type in to find you. And especially nowadays with AI and so much of image search, you want to make sure you really hit all of those areas to be organically found. And check this out. A study has found that images optimized with SEO friendly names saw 22, I repeat, 22% increase in organic traffic. So image SEO is a big deal. However, it is a struggle for the time invested and the human resources needed. And not to forget human error. We are only just humans.

Yvonne Heimann [00:03:42]:
So renaming images manually is a pain, it’s time consuming, it’s easy to mess up, and trying to keep the whole team on the same page with the naming conventions. Good luck. Even a small mistake can screw up your SEO efforts. So the solution, the solution is setting this whole process on autopilot. From renaming images with your SEO keywords, to uploading them to the right Google Drive folder, to attaching them to the specific task in ClickUp, you will not need to lift a finger to really SEO optimize any images you generate. And not only that, the nice little add on to this is you actually can find your images because they are placed exactly where they’re supposed to be. Nice little bonus here, isn’t it? And in one of my last videos I already showed you how we automate the digital asset management and moving all the things where they’re supposed to be. Today we’re going to look specifically at the naming and the SEO optimization of those images.

Yvonne Heimann [00:04:47]:
This whole process starts with our ClickUp task. As you can see right here we have the video of our ClickUp setup that simplifies customer support overnight. If you haven’t watched it yet, go watch it. Customer service is one of our core keywords and as you can see, we didn’t end up going with the actual customer service. We went with customer support. It is right in the title. It is right there. You know exactly what this video is about and it is already SEO optimized.

Yvonne Heimann [00:05:21]:
So with that, this title right here is perfectly set up to optimize your images with a name that is SEO optimized because we already optimized that title. Now how does this process work? Number one is my team gets a specific link and is being told, hey, we are ready for the graphics. Make sure you submit them here. That is the original trigger where they are then entering the task ID. The YouTube thumbnail image is being uploaded, the square image is being uploaded and the story image is being uploaded. We’ve already talked about the asset management of this and you’ve seen this before. This is our make.com automation that is triggered by this form. By submitting images to this form and then moves the things into Google Drive and ClickUp as needed.

Yvonne Heimann [00:06:17]:
Now what happens though? First of all, based on the id, it pulls the ClickUp task name and all the things it holds all of the information. Sometimes our titles in ClickUp have like weird stuff in it, they have a dash in it or whatever. So we make sure we pull these out. As you can see, it uses the task name name and then pulls any of those characters out. Then when you look specifically in Google Drive, it uses to name the file that specific cleaned up title from the ClickUp task that we just generated in the text parser. So no matter what the title looks like with a dash or whatever in it, it is nice and clean. And because the task title is already SEO optimized now the image naming is SEO optimized. And not only that, it also places it nice and easily with the episode and it’s named based on the episode and the video title.

Yvonne Heimann [00:07:18]:
So now it’s not just really, really easy to rank high on SEO because there is no human error involved. There is no what are we supposed to name? What’s the naming convention? None of this is happening. It accommodates potential issues uploading weird names and characters to Google Drive and it integrates with your SEO optimization you have already done in your ClickUp task. The same thing happens uploading to ClickUp. And we do that three times because we have three images. We have a square image that by the way is named Dash square. What a concept. Yes, we’ve done that before too.

Yvonne Heimann [00:08:03]:
There’s the story jpg and right here is the thumbnail. There it is, thumb jpg. And with that you really simple and easily get your images named in a way that is SEO optimized without you ever having to worry about is the team going to do it? Do I have to write an SOP for it? Yeah, you still want to write a SOP for this workflow. But you don’t have to worry about the team because all of this is automated and you are not only skipping human error, you are also saving your team a whole bunch of time of backing it up in Google Drive and having it readily available in ClickUp too and coming back to SEO. Now that your image file is named to exactly match your content and your keywords, Google knows exactly how to rank your page. You put in the work to tell Google, hey, we have amazing content. So instead of random file names that don’t connect, each image is going to boost your SEO efforts. That builds trust with search engines over time and saves you from manually renaming things later.

Yvonne Heimann [00:09:19]:
Here you have it. No more manual renaming images for SEO. This automation handles it all. You save time, minimized mistakes, and you’ve given your site such a better shot at higher SEO rankings. If you found this helpful, hit that like button and subscribe for more automation tips. And now you are set up for success automating your image. SEO isn’t just a timesaver, it’s a game changer. And if you haven’t seen the asset management automation that goes along with all of this, watch this video right here where I show you exactly how this works and really saves all of the assets where you need them and want them.

Yvonne Heimann [00:09:59]:
