If you’ve ever relied on screen recordings to communicate with your team, clients, or contractors, you know how essential tools like Loom have become. Quick explainer videos, async updates, and visual instructions are now part of everyday workflows. But for those who manage everything in ClickUp, jumping between tools just to share a simple video often feels like a frustrating detour.
But with this ClickUp Clips update, you don’t have to have multiple tools anymore
Imagine this: you record a screen share or voice note directly inside ClickUp, and it’s automatically stored, transcribed (thanks to ClickUp AI), and linked to the task or space it’s related to.
No need to open a new app. No hunting for links.
No paying extra for another tool.
That’s exactly what the newest ClickUp Clips update delivers.
In the latest YouTube video, Yvonne Heimann breaks down why the new update to ClickUp Clips might finally make it a true Loom alternative and how it’s helping her and other entrepreneurs save hundreds of dollars a year.
If you’ve ever juggled multiple tools to manage screen recordings, meeting notes, and client updates, this is the integration you’ve been waiting for.
Let’s dive into what changed, how ClickUp Clips is now solving real workflow challenges, and what exciting features are on the horizon.
The Biggest Issue With ClickUp Clips Now Solved
ClickUp Clips’ biggest flaw was simple but serious—it was way too easy to lose your video links. You’d record something brilliant, share it, and then have no easy way to find that clip again later.
That was a dealbreaker for anyone used to Loom’s tidy library and searchable database. The result? Teams were stuck paying for both Loom and ClickUp, managing recordings in one tool and tasks in another.
But not anymore.
ClickUp has officially solved this problem with a brand new Clips tab, a dedicated space in your sidebar where every recording is stored, searchable, and ready to share. Whether it’s a screen recording, voice memo, team call, or AI-transcribed meeting, everything is organized in one central hub inside your ClickUp workspace.
What’s New in ClickUp Clips?
1. Dedicated Clips Tab for Easy Access
ClickUp Clips now lives in its own sidebar tab. If you don’t see it yet, just enable it manually. Once it’s visible, you’ll have instant access to every clip you’ve created or been shared on without leaving ClickUp.
2. One Central Hub for Videos, Voice Clips & AI Notes
Recordings from meetings, screen shares, quick updates, and even AI note taker summaries are all stored in one place. This boosts project visibility, reduces miscommunication, and keeps your knowledge base centralized.
3. Seamless Sharing from Within ClickUp
No more digging through emails or external platforms. Share videos directly from ClickUp Clips, with links that are automatically stored and easy to reference later. It’s async collaboration made simple.
Recording Clips Faster, Smarter, Simpler
ClickUp didn’t just fix the storage issue, they made recording more intuitive too. Here’s how:
Hit “New Clip” right from the sidebar
Choose to record with or without audio
Grant screen and mic permissions (ClickUp prompts you clearly)
Pause and resume recording to avoid awkward edits
Click stop, and your clip is instantly processed and stored
It works beautifully on both Mac and PC, with clear step-by-step prompts to make sure nothing gets missed. Whether you’re sharing feedback or creating SOPs, it’s now as simple as click, record, share.
Upcoming Features: What’s Coming Next for ClickUp Clips?
While the current features are already game-changing, ClickUp isn’t done yet. According to Yvonne’s update, here’s what’s coming soon:
Webcam Recording Support
You’ll soon be able to include your face in your screen recordings, a key feature for personalizing updates, onboarding videos, or connecting with clients asynchronously.
Video Trimming + Better Notes
Trim out mistakes or long pauses without needing another editing tool. Plus, AI-powered notes and comments are in the works to make summarizing and collaborating even faster.
Why This All-In-One Integration Actually Matters
This isn’t just a new ClickUp feature, it’s a shift in how digital teams work.
ClickUp Clips now integrates recording, transcribing, storing, and sharing right inside your project management system. That means no more switching apps, chasing links, or paying for overlapping tools.
And because ClickUp AI can now read and understand your clips’ transcriptions, you can create smart automations and insights based on actual meeting content. It’s a major win for efficiency and clarity.
For digital entrepreneurs, agencies, and small teams, this means:
Less app fatigue
More productive async communication
Cleaner, centralized documentation
Fewer subscriptions eating up your profit margin
Getting Started with ClickUp Clips (Without Overwhelm)
Yvonne’s best advice? Start small.
Pick one way to use ClickUp Clips this week—maybe a short project update, a quick SOP tutorial, or a follow-up to a client question. You don’t have to go full production mode.
Systems thinking is about habits that scale, not doing everything at once. As Yvi says: “It doesn’t have to be perfect. Let it grow with your business.”

Yvonne Heimann [00:00:00]:
Okay, let’s be real for a second. ClickUp Clips had one massive problem that made me question whether I could actually recommend it to replace Loom. You’d record your clip, share it with your team or your client, and then poof, where did the link go? It was like watching your brilliance disappear in the digital void. We already have too much digital clutter going on. Having too much to remember your URL and saving it was a huge, huge issue when using ClickUp Clips. But they just fixed it. And I’m about to show you exactly what changed in ClickUp Clips and why this might just be the push you needed to finally ditch Loom for good.
Yvonne Heimann [00:00:53]:
Now ClickUp Clips actually has their dedicated tab. If you are not seeing your clips on your sidebar, make sure sure you don’t have to add it to show up in there if you already see it. Perfect. Look at that. Our collection of clips. Easily accessible, easily linkable. It is all right in here. Now with the AI upgrade and with the AI note taker, there is a whole bunch of different clips right in here.
Yvonne Heimann [00:01:28]:
You have your video clips in here. This is when you are recording a clip within ClickUp, meaning you go right here, you say new clip you record it, you do all the things, it ends up in here. This is also where your voice clips are housed, where you’ll SyncUps are housed, meaning your calls, your team calls, as you can see right there, as well as your AI note taker. If we haven’t met yet, I’m Yvonne Heimann, AKA Yvi from Ask Yvi. And after helping hundreds of digital entrepreneurs streamline their workflows with ClickUp, I’ve seen every frustration, every workaround and every “why doesn’t this just work” moment there is. And honestly, the ClickUp clip link issue was one of my biggest hesitations to fully embrace clips as your go-to recording tool. But with the changes that have happened, I’m going to walk you through exactly how to use ClickUp Clips, the most recent update, and how you now can integrate ClickUp Clips and save yourself from paying for yet another subscription.
Yvonne Heimann [00:02:45]:
We now have a specific spot for all of our videos, for all of our audio recordings, for all of our video recordings, for all of our ClickUp AI note taker recordings. Yes, can I get an Amen for that? What a nice upgrade. How do we record clips? Please, if you are my membership, always record a clip, always send me a video because it makes it so much easier to understand something. And recording a clip is really, really simple. You just hit new clip the first time you run this. Come up with needing to approve a couple of things. You need to be able to share screen as well as allow clips to grab onto your audio or you won’t have anything. So let’s just do a video and as you can tell make sure you choose the right audio or no audio at all. That is possible too.
Yvonne Heimann [00:03:43]:
And you hit record clips as you can see. No, you actually can’t see because it’s out of the window where I’m screen recording. My Mac asked me, am I allowed to share your screen? Yes, please share my screen. And you go through the process of allowing your computer to share with clips and it’s going to start recording. As you can see already, I’m double recording now. Yes with loom and yes with clips. So I can show you everything and we can easily pause a recording and then continue a recording. If you are having a little hiccup or something, don’t make your editor wait for you.
Yvonne Heimann [00:04:21]:
Simply pause it and when you’re done, stop the recording. As you can see, it has already processed because it is a quick and easy recording. There it is, the screen recording done. Now I haven’t done anything on the screen so you don’t see a lot of movement actually look, look. You can see my mouse of hovering over my mouse and all the things. What that now does is we don’t have to search for the URL anymore for any of our clips. It also allows us to easily and effortlessly have all our clips. Have all our AI recordings.
Yvonne Heimann [00:04:56]:
Have all our AI voice recordings right here in clips. And with that I do believe you now have a perfect resource to dump your loom subscription. We just did. We just did. We’re gonna run out for the rest of what we paid for and we gonna be stop using loom. Now some of you might be. But Yvi, you are not on the screen. Clips doesn’t record web and puts that little gizmo on the bottom.
Yvonne Heimann [00:05:30]:
First of all, a lot of people don’t even show their face on screen recordings. I do. Correct. It’s coming. Yes, they are working on the webcam support during that recording. They’re also working on trimming capabilities. Better note taking and comments too. Yes.
Yvonne Heimann [00:05:53]:
And I might have checked in with a development team. It looks like the webcam feature on clips is just around the corner. So we are not talking years. Let’s. Let’s give them a little bit of time to integrate nicely. And I have a feeling we’re going to see that really, really soon. If you’re not on my newsletter, pop in there I’m going to let you know the moment I have more specifics on when the webcam drops or when I see the webcam feature. And with that, if you’re ready to finally move from just scattered recording tools and all kinds of stuff to a fully integrated system that actually supports how your business operates, remember ClickUp AI can read and understand everything that is in ClickUp, which means transcriptions too.
Yvonne Heimann [00:06:45]:
It is your turn now to jump into ClickUp clips. Go test it out and here is my permission slip. You don’t have to be perfect at this immediately. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Start with one type of recording, get your AI notetaker, play around with it. Systems thinking isn’t about doing everything all at once. It is about creating sustainable habits that compound over time. Just because there’s a new feature, just because there’s a new shiny object doesn’t mean you have to run after it.
Yvonne Heimann [00:07:14]:
