Everyone sets goals—whether big or small, business-oriented or personal. Maybe you want to grow your business, improve your health, or finally stick to a daily routine. But let’s be honest—how many of those goals actually turn into long-term habits? Most people start strong, fueled by motivation, only to lose momentum a few weeks later. The problem isn’t a lack of ambition; it’s a lack of consistency.

Big goals can feel overwhelming, making it easy to procrastinate or revert to old habits. Without a structured system to reinforce small, daily actions, even the best intentions fade. That’s where a ClickUp habit tracker becomes a game-changer.

By tracking progress and integrating habits into your daily workflow, you can transform fleeting motivation into lasting results—without the stress of trying to remember everything on your own.

Why Traditional Goal Setting Fails

Traditional goal setting often lacks a consistent way to remind us to take action. Large goals can feel overwhelming, leading many to abandon them. Without a habit tracker, it’s easy to fall back into familiar routines that don’t support progress.

Ever set a goal, whether personal or business, and a few weeks later it’s just like you’ve completely forgotten all about it. I used to struggle with consistency too. I said big, exciting goals start strong and then become less focused while I keep going. And I just simply did not have a system to keep me on track. The problem? I wasn’t breaking my goals into small manageable habits. And the solution? A habit tracking system that not only keeps me on track, but makes reaching my goals feel effortlessly and integrates with my daily, everyday, already existing habits and ways how I work. In today’s video, you will learn how to turn your goals into daily habits using my ClickUp habit tracker. How you can build a simple system to track your progress automatically and stay consistent and how to scale this method for your personal and your business goals. Now, if we haven’t met yet hey there.

Yvonne Heimann [00:01:03]:
I’m Yvonne Heimann with askyvi.com and I’m a business efficiency consultant and verified ClickUp consultant since 2018 and I help entrepreneurs build simple systems that let them scale their business and live their life. Now let’s talk about why most goals fail and how we can fix that. Big goals don’t fail because you lack ambition or the grid to stick to it. No, most people set high reaching goals but don’t develop those small habits to actually sustain them. If we don’t keep progress, it’s simply really easy to fall back into old patterns. Human nature and mind wants to keep us safe. Keeping us safe means doing the things we’ve been doing that haven’t killed us. Doesn’t mean those are good things.

Yvonne Heimann [00:01:55]:
How can we change this? A daily habit tracker that aligns with with your bigger vision and works as a system that helps you consistently take action so that your success becomes inevitable. Now how can we set up this ClickUp habit tracker in ClickUp? Because you probably are already working every day in ClickUp. So let’s tap into that habit you have already developed and make it really easy for you. This template really simplifies turning goals into daily habits and actionable, trackable items. So instead of this vague I’ll be more productive. It helps you really break down on what specifically does that mean and what’s that measurable step you want to take? Want to meditate daily? Need a schedule for daily client outreach? Or maybe you’re just trying to post daily on social media? I recommend not doing all of these daily right away. Start with twice a week, start with three times a week, grow into it. Makes it way easier and you can easily do this right here in this ClickUp habit tracker.

Yvonne Heimann [00:03:07]:
It works because you are automatically getting reminders of doing the thing it is already in your everyday task list. As long as you assign yourself and set due dates, it’s everything just in one place stacking onto the habit you already have. Looking into this, decide on what your schedule is going to be and as you can see, you can choose how you want to build this. Do you want to have daily reminders and habits in here? Do you want them once a week? Do you want them every other day? Make use of ClickUp feature in here of your automated progress bar of using your due dates and your times. Make use of the assignees so you get the reminder for your habits. You choose just how well this can work for you using ClickUp features right. And again you don’t even have to build this all out. We got the template for you. And also think about rather than this being workout, you can set this up as a main task of journaling with your days you want to journal as subtasks underneath.

Yvonne Heimann [00:04:18]:
Now you can connect this to a ClickUp document to easily be able to click on the sidebar and say journaling right now set the timer and ClickUp 5 minutes and now suddenly you integrated this complete workflow from being reminded where you are already at to journal clicking one simple link to start journaling in your ClickUp. And if you’re like me and you want to use a book, have the book handy and start start writing. You can also use ClickUp forms to easily use it to journal for your business. Right here in this ClickUp habit tracker set up a form, ask the questions that you want to answer daily or weekly about your business to celebrate the wins and what you potentially could have done better. And collect the data right in here underneath your ClickUp habit tracker. This allows you to really start tracking the things you are doing and identifying patterns. When are you doing better? When are you doing worse? Ladies, we know how this goes, right? It allows you to collect wins. It allows you to identify roadblocks that might be coming up over and over.

Yvonne Heimann [00:05:37]:
It really helps you create momentum intentionally and pay attention to the habits you want to develop and the data you do want to collect in your business. This works for personal and business growth from tracking your workouts to analyzing client interaction. As I already mentioned, you easily can bring in a ClickUp form into this where you set up the habit tracker of collecting data from my business. Every day a task comes up that says fill out this form gives you right away the URL to the form that says what are you planning to do today? What did you get done? What is a win? What could you have done better? What are those data points and those feedbacks about your business you want to collect? Type them in, done. And now you have a collection of so much data throughout your week, throughout your month, throughout your years and seeing where your business just thrive and where there might be behavioral patterns that you can update to do better in your business. Now to give you a couple of ideas for business habit tracking, think about content creation tracker. Stay on top of those brainstorming, drafting, editing and publishing things where you can simply say I want to make sure I sit down for half an hour just an ideation space and come up with ideas. Set your habit tracker of say okay daily or once a week, we estimate half an hour, assign it to you, set a specific day and let this habit of ideation run.

Yvonne Heimann [00:07:17]:
You can use this as a team productivity tracker using automated tasks like client follow ups or reporting to really help your team get into the habit of every Tuesday reaching out to leads and clients. You also can use this as a sales pipeline tracker. There’s so many ways you can adjust a simple habit tracker like this in ClickUp to become habits in your business. So as a sales pipeline tracker you can use this for daily or weekly lead, reach out and follow ups. You see where we are going with this. This process of habit tracking is really versatile throughout all of your personal life and your business. And it’s a system where it’s not just checking boxes. You are not just on a journal and checking boxes off.

Yvonne Heimann [00:08:08]:
It really helps you stay accountable but also pay attention to your team’s accountability. It makes it simple and easy to see what is working and what is not working.
