In the world of YouTube, it’s easy to get caught up in the numbers game. And all of us at some point thought… I’m done with YouTube!

Many of us creators often find ourselves chasing views, click-through rates, and algorithmic success at the expense of authenticity and genuine connection with our audience. 

Yvonne’s journey on YouTube began by sharing her story, showcasing her expertise in business efficiency and automation, and helping entrepreneurs turn their passion into profitable, automated businesses.

However, as her channel grew, she found herself falling into the trap of prioritizing numbers over genuine content.  leading her to focus more on click-through rates and view counts than on fostering meaningful connections with her audience.

As Yvonne continued to play the YouTube game, creating video after video based on what the numbers told her, she began to lose sight of her true passion: helping others build businesses based on their own values and goals.

The realization hit hard when, despite following the advice of others and doing what she was told, Yvonne found her business on the brink of collapse. It was a wake-up call that led her to reevaluate her approach to content creation.

Returning to the SOAR Framework:

Determined to realign her YouTube channel with her own teachings and values, Yvonne is now embracing the S.O.A.R.R framework: Systemize, Optimize, Automate, Review your results, and then Rinse and Repeat. This approach allows her to create content that genuinely reflects her passion and expertise while still providing value to her audience.

People-Centric Content:

One of the key changes Yvonne is implementing in her YouTube strategy is a focus on people-centric content. Rather than solely emphasizing processes and tactics, she recognizes the importance of considering the individuals involved in those processes. I don’t want to be a youtuber. I don’t want to have to create YouTube videos just because it is my income. I want to create YouTube videos because I want to educate you, because I want to share a new tool that is making my life easier, that I’m excited about, because I want to share something where I had an “aha” moment. And that is exactly how we are restructuring this YouTube channel. And this YouTube channel is coming back around to my own framework, to my own teachings, to realizing that I thought I wasn’t worth it and looked for everybody else to tell me I’m worth it by telling me how I’m supposed to do things. Apparently it doesn’t work.

What happened to being original? What happened to being honest? All of these creators will always live in the shadow.

It’s formulaic, algorithmic, soulless. Massive productions and sets are used as replacement for like, actual entertainment. Everyone acts like the same guy.

Feeling tired of the same old YouTube content. It seems like everybody is talking about the same thing and you’ve just scrolled through five different SOP videos basically telling the exact same thing. Whether you are a content creator or a viewer, you might agree that many videos feel like more of the same and today I’m diving into the YouTube practices that have been getting under my skin lately and how we are mixing things up right here on my channel. Join me as I start the journey to rediscover the heart of what YouTube should be about. I’m Yvonne Heimann, aka AskYvi. I’m a business efficiency and automation strategist, helping entrepreneurs turn their passion into a profitable, automated business by teaching you repeatable systems and processes. So many of us have grown wary of the repetitive practices of dominating YouTube. It often feels like content creators are prioritizing views and click through rates over genuine connection and authenticity.

And this is exactly why here at AskYvi and I, bringing you videos will be breaking away from this circle. I’m committed to keeping things natural and meaningful and focusing on fostering real connections with our community. It’s not just about numbers, it’s about creating content that resonates with you, sparks conversation, and leaves lasting impact. That’s where my passion is and to give you a little bit of a background to my YouTube channel. Initially, I had started my journey by sharing my story, how I was mad at Asana, discovered ClickUp, and then showed you the journey of me learning ClickUp, how it has helped my business be more efficient, how I built a relationship with ClickUp, how I became one of their first affiliates, how I became one of their first consultants, how I wrote the book on ClickUp, how I am one of the broadest and widest known ClickUp evangelists there are. And then YouTube smacked me over the head. There was in the past, I don’t know if the bug is still around. YouTube just swallowed your comments.

Now suddenly I went from a engaged YouTube channel where I was able to have conversations with you, you popping into the comments, me replying back and we having this relationship to crickets. Not only that, some of my community members were like, why did you delete my post? And were like, I didn’t. I didn’t. I swear I did not. Now we were stuck in comments, just disappearing for over a year. Which means I lost this communication, I lost the ideas, the insights, what you were going after. And it triggered me starting to really play this “YouTube game”. I didn’t just share my story anymore.

Yvonne Heimann [00:04:01]:
What is, what is the click through rate? Where do people drop off? What’s working? I was just looking for the numbers. What numbers am I getting? What is being viewed? Let’s do another video on this topic. And another. And another. And another, and another. And that was the beginning of me losing my passion to help you be more efficient in your business, to build a business that is built upon your values, your goals, not just freaking YouTube numbers about. Hmm. A few months back, I got smacked over the head big time.

Yvonne Heimann [00:04:37]:
Most of my clientele, most of my one on one clients know, actually probably all of my one on one clients said, I’ve seen you on YouTube before. I know your face. So yeah, I need to do YouTube. But do I really have to do the same thing over and over again just because the numbers tell me to? And then on top of that, just a few months ago, I got smacked over the head really big by again, not following my passion, not following my own teachings. And one contract ran out, one contract ended, another contract got cancelled. But I did all the things that everybody told me. I followed what I was told to do on YouTube. I followed what I was told to do on office.

Yvonne Heimann [00:05:16]:
I did not follow what I was teaching my own clients, but I had looked on this outside opinion for everybody else what they were telling me to do. And here I was nearly burning my whole business to the ground because I followed their framework, what they told me to do without them ever asking me, what is my purpose in our case of this video for my YouTube channel. So with that, this YouTube channel is going to reflect what I teach, my passion, the lessons that I have learned that work and how it works for you. Not as a blank statement, not as a “if you do this this way, it’s going to work for you”. No, we are going to follow the S.O.A.R.R framework. If you’ve been around for a while, S.O.A.R.R stands for systemize, optimize, automate, review your results, and then rinse and repeat. Now, the videos are also going to be in different content buckets, meaning people. Too many process driven channels and teachers and educators out there miss one major thing, the people involved in the process.

Yvonne Heimann [00:06:33]:
I can teach you all the processes. You’ve seen a lot of my processes. That doesn’t mean they’re going to work for you. That doesn’t mean that sales page copy is going to work for you. It’s not going to mean that list templates are better than board templates for you in ClickUp. No, we need to talk about the people that are involved in those processes and based on the people adjust our processes, the programs we use and how we work with our prospects, turning them into clients and repeatable processes. That’s exactly what I am going to do on this YouTube channel. You are going to get to see the “how to” videos that you are used to on these tricks that I’m figuring out with my most favorite tools.

Yvonne Heimann [00:07:18]:
You are also going to get mindset and people driven process videos to learn how you can adjust a proven process because all of these processes work to the people involved in your process. We’re going to talk about the programs that are making life easier. One of the reasons why I love ClickUp because we can adjust it to all the people involved in the process. You got a creative person, use the board view. You got a “type a” person, use the list view as well as how can you actually generate traffic and leads for your business? Turn them into clients, turn them into repeat business so that you really can turn your passion into profit. I’ll be sharing videos that aren’t just about the methods and the processes, but the understanding of the human behind all of those with the stories and the experience that shaped them. And I know there’ll be a few questions or even a bit of uncertainty about where we are heading here, but trust me, we are still all about bringing you amazing content that matters. I’ll just be showing you more of the human side instead of this robotic is this working for everybody else? Follow the numbers B’S. We are going to focus on the humans, we are going to focus on you, your goals and your passions. It is all about you. It is all about my community. It is all about us working together and really rediscovering again what drives us, what lights us up, what fires us up, what is at the heart of our vision. I want to know what resonates with you. Where are you? Like, oh my God, Yvi, I feel you’re on this. What do you want to see? What have you been struggling with? This is your time to really ask for somebody that has spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars on coaches to learn the processes and now finally take those proven processes and implement them in a people first way of process implementation. A way that allows you to customize all of this and really get the result that you wanted from all the stuff you sign up and all the stuff I signed up for. My goal is to build a supportive and interactive community where you are my top priority. I really envision this as us coming together, not just through videos, but through trainings, through meetups, through social media, through our community and through ongoing conversation. Now, I’ve covered a lot in this video, from reflecting off my YouTube challenges to really finding my passion again and genuinely wanting to connect with my community with you. I don’t just want to talk at you, I want to talk with you.
